is sturdy, simple, and gleaming, with the satisfying weight that’s often
missing from synthetic-material models. As a nice update on vintage design, the
iron comes with a nonstick soleplate for easy glide over all kinds of fabric.
It has plenty of power for its compact form, handles materials from acrylic to
linen, and irons dry or with steam. A fabric guide is mounted to the body, and
a handle dial sets the heat. Clear markings distinguish the steam settings, and
a push button turns steam on and off. This construction is easy to use--it would
be hard to set it wrong accidentally--though you do have to estimate the iron’s
water level as the reservoir has no view window. Other helpful features include
a button channel and extra long power cord. Measuring 9-1/4 by 5-3/4 by 4-3/4
inches, the iron carries a full one-year warranty.
